In order to increase its presence in the Indian market, Malaysia-based hybrid airline, Malindo Air is planning to launch new flights to Delhi and Tiruchirappalli in 2013.
Chandran Rama Murthy, CEO, Malindo Air said “the first international flight will be on the India route followed a service to South China. We strongly feel there is great potential between India and Malaysia market based on the amount of traffic movement between both countries. First, we are looking on the Tiruchirappalli and Delhi.”
He also said that after the India route, Malindo Air will be targeting Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Kunming markets in Southern China. The airline also is targeting the Singapore market by the end of this year.
“We have to refer back to the objective of Malindo Air which is making Malaysia a transit hub. Singapore may have a population of three to five million but India and China have a population of over a billion so targeting them will definitely boost the airline’s profit,” he said.
