These days the capital of India is witnessing lot of things happening at the art circuit. However what bugs me is that most of the art dos’ are nothing but a big party to showcase one’s designer outfits, jewellery and socialising with each other.
The new generation of artists are just eager to make as much moolah as they can by pricing their so called work of art at exorbhitant prices. They are not bothered about the quality but are extra careful about the quantity. Though Tyeb Mehta’s Mahishasura being auctioned at Christies has put Indian Art in the global market, there’s still lot of untravelled path for Indian Art to cover before it can truly achieve the global status.
